- Where did the name "T-Cata" come from?
This was kind of a fluke. When I heard of a working (sorta) cataclysm, I checked and compiled the source. Said "Trinity", so I assumed they were taking on the project - and thus a "Trinity-Cataclysm" DB editor or "T-Cata" for short. Later I found it was a branch team called SkyFire EMU that mixed a combination of Mangos and Trinity. - What exacly is T-Cata
Short answer: DB Editor.
The project originally started out as an .exe file mch like QUICE did for Mangos. But dropped it as I "thought" there was a trinity one out using the QUICE source code. Turns out later, that it was only for 3.3.5. Now T-Cata is a flull blown php app.
In the beginning it was mostly for myself and a few friends and family and was mostly for fixing quest then later NPC's and creatures without having to dig manually into the database by (heidi, Navcat or whatever we happened to use that the time)
I kept going with the php project (at the request of my son) as I realized that this could be very handy for editing advance server stuff from afar (if you are running a public server) and it is portable since it can be used on any system (mac, linux etc..) that supports php.
Currently the SkyFire branch has been put on hold. This is mostly due to the fact that the core they use relies on Blizzards server to function. So until the core can be made to run independent, I will be focusing on Mangos 3.3.5. - When will it be released to the public
Im shooting for May or June 2011 or if I happen to get the major core of the app working (quest, creatures, items) so it is useful
